Terms of Service

The short version: Use Prayerwell respectfully. We'll do our best to help you pray, reflect, and grow. The app isn't a substitute for professional help when you need it.

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, downloading, or using Prayerwell ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

Prayerwell is operated by PrayerWell LLC ("we," "us," "our"). These terms form a legal agreement between you and us.

2. What Prayerwell Is

Prayerwell is a faith-based companion app for prayer, Bible reading, and reflection. The App uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized prayers and devotional content based on what you share.

Prayerwell is:

  • A tool to help you find words for prayer in any season of life
  • A place to read Scripture, including the King James Bible and, for Pro subscribers, the Ethiopian Orthodox biblical canon
  • A space to journal, save meaningful prayers, and reflect privately or with a small prayer group

3. What Prayerwell Is Not

Prayerwell is not a substitute for:

  • Professional mental health care. If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or crisis service.
  • Medical advice. The App does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or health advice.
  • Spiritual or theological authority. Prayerwell does not claim to speak for God or represent any single denomination. Generated prayers and devotionals are tools for your own reflection, not doctrinal pronouncements.
  • Human connection. Prayerwell is meant to support your prayer life, not replace community, pastoral counsel, or relationships with people who know you.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create a Prayerwell account. Features intended for use with children, such as Kids Prayer, are designed to be operated by a parent or guardian through their own adult account - see Section 9 below.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Plan

Prayerwell offers a free tier with limited daily usage across prayer generation features, and limited storage for saved prayers and journal entries.

Pro Subscription

A paid Prayerwell Pro subscription unlocks expanded daily usage, additional saved prayers and journal entries, and access to Pro-only features such as the Ethiopian Bible.

Pro is available as:

  • Monthly billing
  • Annual billing (offered at a discount to the monthly rate)

Billing

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings.
  • Cancelling stops future billing; you'll retain Pro access through the end of your current paid period.
  • We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by law.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any change will apply to your next billing cycle after we provide notice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Prayerwell respectfully and lawfully. You may not:

  • Use the App to generate harmful, hateful, or illegal content
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, security measures, or subscription gating
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code
  • Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to access the App
  • Share your account or subscription access with others
  • Use the App in any way that could harm Prayerwell, other users, or third parties

7. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of what you write in the App, including journal entries and personal context you share. By using Prayerwell, you grant us a limited license to process that input for the purpose of generating prayers and devotional content for you.

Generated Content

Prayers and devotionals generated by Prayerwell are provided for your personal use. You're welcome to save, share, or use them as you like. We don't claim ownership over content generated specifically for you.

Our Content

The App itself - its design, features, branding, and underlying technology - is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it without our permission.

8. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

9. Kids Prayer and Children's Information

Kids Prayer is a feature intended to be used by a parent or guardian, through their own adult account, to generate a bedtime prayer for a child.

We do not collect, store, or retain any personal information about the child. Any name, age, or other detail entered to personalize a Kids Prayer is used only in the moment to generate that prayer and is not saved to our systems, associated with any profile, or shared with any third party. If the resulting prayer is saved to a journal, it is stored generically (for example, as "Kids Bedtime Prayer") without the child's name or age attached.

Prayerwell does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and Kids Prayer is not designed to be operated independently by a child.

10. Crisis-Related Features

Prayerwell includes an SOS Prayer feature intended to offer a prayer alongside crisis support resources, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line. This feature is currently limited in availability while we continue to develop it, and is not a monitored or real-time intervention service.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a crisis line right away, regardless of whether you are using the App:

  • Outside the US: visit findahelpline.com to find a crisis line in your country

11. Disclaimers

Prayerwell is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free
  • Generated content will meet your expectations
  • The App will function on every device or browser

We are not responsible for how you interpret or act on prayers, devotionals, or Bible content generated or displayed by the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Prayerwell. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before any claim.

13. Account Deletion and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings, which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and may notify you within the App. Continuing to use Prayerwell after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
